Coronavirus Update – 18 May 2020
Though our office remain closed to the public for the time being to protect our staff and clients, we are all working from home so we can continue to help our clients.
Our switchboard is also operational, but we would ask you to be patient if you are unable to reach us straightaway and need to call again. You can also email us at email@example.com or contact your solicitor directly:
Robert Wilson – 0117 924 1100 – firstname.lastname@example.org
Claire Speake – 0117 944 0321 – email@example.com
Andrew Maxwell – 0117 944 0320 – firstname.lastname@example.org
Matt Wright – 0117 944 0323 – email@example.com
Helen Burgess – 0117 944 0322 – firstname.lastname@example.org
All of our solicitors are conducting telephone or Skype appointments. Please contact your solicitor or the switchboard to make an appointment for any of the following legal services:
Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
We are still taking instructions for new Wills and LPAs. New instructions should be taken by video call if at all possible, or by telephone.
When it comes to signing your Wills and LPAs, we can provide you with detailed guidance to ensure your Wills are properly executed or, in some circumstances, we can attend your home to witness the execution of your Wills, following strict social distancing guidelines to minimise the risk to you and our staff. Please discuss this with your solicitor, who will be able to provide you with more information.
We continue to administer the estates upon which we are instructed. If someone has died during the current crisis, we will be able to advise you on what steps you need to take, and discuss how we can help you with the administration of the estate.
If we are holding the Will of someone who has recently died, we will be able to retrieve that for the executors, subject to our necessarily strict requirements for releasing original Wills or copies of them. If you have any questions about the Will of someone who has recently died, or the administration of an estate, please telephone 0117 942 8214 or email email@example.com and one of our solicitors will call you back.
We continue to carry out all our usual services for both residential and commercial conveyancing. The government has recently lifted restrictions on house-moving and the current government guidance can be found by clicking on the link below.
Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation.
Rob Wilson and Claire Speake
We are an independent firm of solicitors with a Christian ethos. We seek to provide high quality legal services from our offices on Gloucester Road, Bishopston, Bristol which were originally opened (as Sharples & Co) in 1973.
The firm aims to provide services to our clients with honesty and integrity. Unusually, all the legal work we do for you will be carried out by legally-qualified practising lawyers rather than support staff. We are also independent, so work comes to us by referral and reputation, not by paying third parties. We seek to be friendly and approachable, and will be happy to discuss ways in which we can help you, your family or your business to achieve your objectives.
